  • Because the headphone features a lightning connector, it is compatible with IOS devices only.
  • This product does not feature an IPX rating and is not waterproof. Over exposure to water or moisture can result in irreversible damage to this unit.
  • Please note that the digital signal cable for N90Q, which also serves as the charging cable, has a special full-size USB plug that can be inserted the wrong way as well as the correct way into the computer. Always check that charging is actually taking place, by making sure that the charging control light comes on when the USB cable is connected. The amber charging control light is inside the calibration button.
  • Please note that this is a universal remote, which will work with most Android OS phones. However, if some functions do not work, we advise you to contact the phone manufacturer.
  • The SilentNow feature allows you to activate Noise Cancelling without using Bluetooth, i.e. simply turning on ANC without playing music. A useful feature if you just want to enjoy a quiet moment or would like to rest on a long-haul flight.

  • This is a matter of personal preferences. Noise Cancellation will lower ambient noise, meaning that you will be able to hear your music clearly, almost without any disturbance from outside noise. Without NC, this is a normal headphone, where outside noise is not reduced. You can even use the N60 as a pure noise reduction headset, without music.

  • Personi-Fi 2.0 is a feature available through the Headphones App for select models. This feature helps to personalize the sound using the best possible sound curve based on your hearing capabilities. It will first ask a few questions, and then check your current ambient audio. You will be informed that this step should be completed in a quiet environment. It will play a series of test tones in all the different frequencies wherein after each frequency test tone is played, it will ask you what is the lowest volume setting you can hear. Nine different sounds will be played in each ear (18 in total).

Simply press and release the button when you hear a sound. After it goes through all the test tones, it then calculates the best sound for your ears based on the results. It allows you to demo the results by playing a track. You will be able to toggle it on/off to hear the difference.

  • Yes, this is normal for the N60NC BT. It disappears within about 20 seconds.
  • ANC (Active Noise Reduction) ON - Green light. ANC off - No light. Battery low - Blinking green. Charging - Red light. Charge compleate - Light off
  • This is a wireless headphone and also comes with a detachable audio cable that you can plug into your device.
  • No, the cable is fixed.
  • No, the N90Q is not wireless. Signals must go through a cable, either analog 3.5mm jack or digital micro USB. Since this is a headphone of very high quality, able to process and play high-definition audio signals, wireless Bluetooth transmission with its inherently low resolution would not make sense.
  • No, N40 is not wireless. It has a cable with 3.5mm stereo jack. 3-pole jack on the straight cable, 4-pole jack on the remote cable. Airplane adapter is included. Cable length is 112cm excluding the jack and the ear loops.
  • The N20U is not a wireless headphone. It features a fabric cord with your standard 3.5 mm jack.
  • Actually the N5005 is very special, because it is BOTH wireless and wired, right out of the box! This is a result of its advanced design, where the cables can be removed from the speaker pods by clicking apart the MMCX connectors. The flexibility in this arrangement becomes very clear when you look at the cables that are in the box when you open it. First, there is the normal cable with 3.5 mm stereo jack and a three-button remote control. This cable is for normal sources, smartphones, tablet computers etc. There is a switch on the back of the remote that permits you to select Android/universal or iOS remote function, for total flexibility. Second, you get the Bluetooth cable, which has a battery box and a three-button remote on the cable. This cable simply converts your N5005 into a wireless headphone. AptX and AAC are supported, but not aptX HD or LL. BT transmission will not be capable of unlocking the full potential of the N5005 due to its nature as a lossy compression system, but it is nice to have this option. The cable has a chin slide lock that can secure the headphones under your chin. Playing time is up to 8 hours, and charging takes place in less than 2 hours. Third, as an indication of the high quality of audio that N5005 masters, you get a special, fully balanced cable without remote control. It uses the 4-pole 2.5 mm jack that you will find on the new generation of high-end headphone amplifiers and music players. With this connection and the proper source material and electronics, you can experience the pinnacle of music reproduction.
  • Please do the following in this order…
    1. Go into the app and clear the Cache
    2. Uninstall the app from your device
    3. Forget or unpair the headphones/speaker from the Bluetooth list on your device
    4. Reboot the device/phone twice (this is an important step, as it ensures that the device has gone through an entire on/off cycle without ever seeing the app or Bluetooth pairing, so all remnants are removed from the phone)
    5. Reset the headphones/speaker
    6. Pair the headphone/speaker to your device
    7. Play some music to ensure a good Bluetooth connection
    8. Download and install the app
    9. Open the app and allow all permissions (app will not function without permissions)
    10. When the app opens, it should find your speaker and function properly
Note: We cannot guarantee the use of our app when using Beta versions of Operating Systems.

  • No, there is no leather on this model.
  • Yes, two headsets can be used simultaneously with one transmitter.
  • No, this is not possible. Even though the MMCX (micro-miniature coaxial) connectors seem identical, they are not the same dimensions.
  • While this is indeed possible, no such cable is made by AKG, so only cables from third-party manufacturers may be considered. Please note that internal pin configuration must be identical to the original cable for such a cable to work with the headphones.
  • No, NC is always on when Bluetooth is on. However, it is possible to select NC on or off when listening via cable.
  • Yes, charging and listening simultaneously is possible. With N90Q, charging takes place at all times when listening to digital audio from a USB socket.
  • No, the noise cancelling function is always active when Bluetooth is on. If you want to listen to music without NC on, you must use the cabled audio connection.
  • Please note that this is a universal remote, which will work with most Android OS phones. However, if some functions do not work, we advise you to contact the phone manufacturer.
  • Please make sure that the switch on the underside of cable remote is moved to the Android functionality. If it is set to iPhone, it will not work with Android phones. You can change the setting with your nail, or use the end of the cleaning tool.
  • Usually, the first time you connect the N90Q to your computer with the USB cable, and turn the headphone ON, it will cause a message to open on your computer, informing you that this new device has been connected, and a software package is being imported.
Next time, you may get a warning that your USB device is not recognized by the computer, but that does not mean that the headphone will not work, it just means that you must activate it in the audio control systems.

    1. Locate the speaker symbol, which is usually shown at the extreme right in your computer taskbar along the bottom of the screen.

    2. Right-click on the speaker symbol.

    3. A menu opens, and you must highlight and click on Playback Devices.

    4. Now a small window opens, showing the Playback tab, with all available speaker option.

    5. One of the options should read something like this: " Speakers. AKG N90 headphones - Firmware version A2.12. Ready."
    6. Highlight this option, and then click the "Set Default" button that is now available in the window. Audio should immediately be sent to the N90 headphones as a digital signal, which is then converted and amplified inside the headphones.
    7. Now you can enjoy world-class music listening.
If the computer will not show N90Q as an option, it is usually a solution to disconnect the headphone, then reconnect it. Sometimes this must be done two or three times before the computer "sees" the headphone.

  • Please note that two types of ear tips are included with AKG N5005. The black ones are normal silicone tips, and they are fine for many users. The Milky-white ones are from the company SpinFit. They have a special middle section that permits the tip to swivel in all directions, making them able to adapt to various insertion angles. Please try both. For some, one is better, for some, the other one is better. You make the decision. In normal use, the tip that makes the best seal with your ear canal is the best choice, since bass reproduction is very dependent on this seal. However, some users may find that they prefer a slightly less tight seal.
  • 1. Disconnect/unplug the product from the network cable. If dealing with a smartphone, forget the wi-fi on the phone. 2. Shut the router completely OFF. (do not reboot, you must turn it completely off) 3. Boot the router up and let it complete it's connection with everything, usually a few minutes. 4. Shut the router completely OFF, again. This is REALLY important. Before turning it off a second time, the router still has the product in it and is looking to connect to it. Shutting it off a second time allows the router to go through a complete power cycle without ever seeing the product, so it will remove it from its system. 5. Boot the router up, again, and let it complete it's connection with everything. 6. Now plug-in/turn on the product. The router should find the product and all should work. 7. If dealing with a smartphone, search for the wi-fi and reconnect to it. All should work after this.

  • Up to four headsets can play simultaneously. For each additional headset, hold the pairing buttons on both transmitter and headset for 5 seconds, then release. Now switch the transmitter off and on again with the pairing button, and the connection is active.
  • The N40 comes with 4 sizes in the packaging. (XS, S, M, L)
  • The N20LT features 4 ear tip sizes: X-S, Small, Medium, Large
  • On the back of the inline microphone you will see the letter A (Android) and i (IOS devices) and a switch option to choose between the two.
  • There is no feedback informing you which setting you have selected. You must simply switch between them, and decide which one you like best. Usually,it is easiest to hear when the Surround mode is active, and once you have found that mode, you will know that the next two selections will be Standard and Studio. Here is an explanation of the three AKG N90Q Listening Modes: Three different spatial listening modes are provided. Each mode is characterized by a different spatial perception of the apparent acoustic surroundings. The first mode Standard renders the music unprocessed, like in any conventional headphone. This is useful in particular, if you use external processors such as Dolby headphone or DTS headphone X. The second mode Studio brings the sound stage to the front of the head, without adding any room effect, by means of a novel crosstalk circuit derived from a patented, simplified model of head-related transfer functions. The third mode Surround adds simulated reflections around the head, designed so that you perceive the sound stage at a greater distance, without disturbing artifacts such as coloration or reverb. The mode is changed by simply pressing and immediately releasing the button. (This is the same button used to trigger auto calibration). Music being played is temporarily interrupted; the mode is changed immediately, and a brief “brushing” sound is played to illustrate the acoustic effect of the new mode. The music then immediately resumes playing using the new mode.
  • When less than one hour's capacity is left, the red diode will blink. It will eventually stop blinking, when all power is gone.
  • The red light in the control LED goes out when charging is complete.
  • The L and R that indicate the two channels are located on the soft grommets that protects the signal cable where it enters the headphone shell. The letters are recessed into the grommets, and are very small. If they are too difficult to read, it may be easier to simply observe how the headphones are situated in the ears. The oval body of each in-ear, with the chrome stripe, should be away from the head, and be situated in the ear lobe, not stick out directly from the head.
  • The red light in the charging status LED on the right cup will turn off.
  • The best way is to carefully insert your nail in the groove where the two halves of the plug meet, then press into the groove until the two sections separate. If you pull on the cord, you may damage the cable by dislodging the cable from the plug.
  • On the Right ear cup, slide the bluetooth button towards the down position and hold until you see the fast blinking blue LED light. Make sure that the device that you are trying to connect to is in pairing mode. It should recognize the N60NC Wireless within a few seconds. You should here the audio "chime" when it is connected and the LED should change to a slow blinking light.
  • Here is the pairing procedure between a K915 headset and a new transmitter box: 1. Power off the headphone. 2. Power off the transmitter. 3. Press and hold the power button on the headphone until the “Signal” LED is flashing, and a beep sound can be heard. 4. Power on the transmitter. 5. After a short while the “Signal” LED will light constantly (stop flashing) and the pairing is complete.
  • The red diode that lights up when charging begins will go out again when charging is complete.
  • The returned merchandise will be inspected when it arrives at the warehouse. When all is confirmed, we will transfer the amount payable back to your credit card.
  • If you are experiencing issues getting the app to communicate with your headphones, (assuming you have already paired the headphones with the device) go into the communication apps audio settings. You will likely find the resolution there. You may have to set your headphones as the ‘communication device’ within the app you are using.

  • We do not ship internationally.
  • You will not be charged for ground shipping. Expedited shipping costs are based upon total weight and service availability.
  • Yes, the cable is detachable.

  • No. The ear cups and headband are made from an animal-free synthetic protein leather.
  • Yes, the N20LT features a 3 button microphone that allows you to answer calls, pause/play, skip tracks and control the volume on your IOS device.
  • Yes, both the AAC and the aptX codecs are supported. aptX HD and aptX Low Latency are not supported. Please note that N5005 is an in-ear headphone capable of extremely high audio reproduction quality. Wireless transmission cannot deliver the quality that a first-class analog, cabled signal can. The best possible quality is available with the balanced 4-pole 2.5 mm jack, connected directly to a highest-quality headphone amplifier that supports this connection, fed by the highest quality source.
